How to Apply for Certified Positions

 

Paper applications and resumes for teaching and school administrator positions are no longer accepted at the Vestavia Hills City Schools' Central Office.

"Teach in Alabama," the state's new digital application system, allows teachers to apply online to every school district in Alabama with one electronic application.  Go to www.alsde.edu and click the "Teach in Alabama" button on the left side of the screen or click here.  Follow the State Department of Education's instructions to complete an application.

All Vestavia teaching positions are posted here on the district web site and are also online at Teach in Alabama.  Vestavia Hills City Schools' administrators look forward to your application being available when online screening is conducted for vacancies in our system.  We require the following attachments to your online application: valid Alabama teacher's certificate, college transcripts, and the NCLB Highly Qualified designation issued by the State of Alabama Department of Education.  Please upload these documents to your Teach in Alabama online application, since Vestavia Hills City Schools wants to be sure your complete application remains available online as a total package.

Please do not send paper transcripts to the Central Office, since these items can be uploaded or scanned into your Teach in Alabama online application.

Teach in Alabama provides an area on the online application for you to give the name, phone number, and email address of people able to provide references for you. It is extremely important that you complete this section. Your references will be checked. This allows the school district to directly contact your references, should you be selected as a final candidate.
