Children are our future, and at the Vestavia HIlls City Schools Extended Day Program we work to nuture the spirit of our children. Fun and Educational, positive guidance and role modeling, and a secure and structured environment are the cornerstones of our program. Our on-site staff has been trained to achieve the highest degree of professionalism.

Each elementary and middle school has its own on-site child care program. Child care is provided each afternoon (Monday through Friday) from dismissal time until 6:00 p.m. Children stay at their home-school every day. We provide after-school child care for students in grades kindergarten through eighth grade. Students come from their classrooms to the Extended Day Progarm area at the end of the school day. Students are given a light snack with juice or water. The afternoon's activities consist of supervised play, homework, and fun socialization.
