 Louis Pizitz Middle SchoolAnnouncements Parents    Students will receive Scoliosis Screening forms during homeroom today.  If you would like your child screened by the school nurse in March, please return the form to the office by February 8.  Scoliosis Opt In Form 
Attention Parents of 8th graders:  On February 4, Help the Hills will come to Pizitz to talk with 8th grade students about academics during 4th period. They will be discussing GPA, study habits, and success at the high school. They will not be discussing course selection with them during this time. Please contact Ms. Payne if you have any questions at PITCH IN at PIZITZ starts Monday, February 4!  Last year, Pizitz raised $4,000 in one week! This year, our goal is to raise over $4,000! Please help us make our goal! The students in the grade that raises the most money will win a FREE TREAT from BRUSTER’S!  Will you PITCH IN so every student can WIN? Questions? Deborah Newsom,, We are excited to announce that Ms. Heidi Fishman, author of the book, Tutti’s Promise, will be coming to lead a writer’s workshop for our 6th grade students and will share her mother’s Holocaust story in a school wide assembly on April 3, 2019. Sixth grade students will be reading Tutti’s Promise before her arrival in April.  Your child can purchase a signed copy of her memoir by completing and returning the order form by February 4. Any 6th or 7th grader interested in trying out for the Pizitz Pirate Ambassadors for next school year: There will be an informational meeting Tuesday, February 5th during 8th period in the Old Gym. Come and hear about all of the exciting things we will do to help with out as we transition to a new campus next year! Special guests from the high school will attend! 
The wrestling Team defeated Liberty in the Future Rebel Classic Wednesday by a score of 48-27.  Individual winners for Pizitz were:  Ben Ferguson, Graham Ferguson, Andre Griffin, Jack McMurray, Mac Chandler, Sam Smith, Hastings Roberts, Clay Johnston, Luke Dutton, Cameron Poe, Riggs Manown, Sam Deason, and Henry Maddox.  Congratulations to the team for a great regular season.  The team will compete in the Metro South Championship Tournament this weekend at Vestavia Hills High School.    If you would like to purchase a "Kindness" t-shirt, please see Mrs. Smith in the library for an order form or download the form from the SGA website HERE. Each shirt is $20 and all proceeds go to Children's Hospital. Order forms and payment are due to Mrs. Smith by Wednesday, February 13.   The VHHS German Honor Society is having a Video Competition.  See Frau Rogers, Room #152 for more information or pick up an informational flyer at front desk.  Entries are due by February 22. to Google Classroom Code: n5cvzx.

 Extracurricular The Pizitz Robotics team will be competing at Madison County High School this weekend! Please let your robotics team know you are proud of the way they represent the Pirate Creed at competitions.
