 Louis Pizitz Middle SchoolAnnouncements  Parents    Attn 8th grade parents - 8th Grade Banquet is May 17 at 6:00-9:00pm.     8th graders will be dismissed at 1:30pm on May 17.8th Grade Banquet tickets will be on sale during 4A in the lunchroom from May 6-May 15 for $25 each.  See the attached letter for more information.  8th Grade Parent letter  Attn 8th grade parents: course verification forms from the high school are due back to the homeroom teacher by YESTERDAY, May 9th, so now past due.    If your course verification form is misplaced or damaged, you will need to contact the high school to get a new course verification form.      Safety is one of our school’s top priorities and to help safeguard our school community, we have a new communication tool that we would like to share with you.  Our district is now using SafeSchools Alert, a tip reporting service that allows students, staff, and parents to submit safety concerns and kudos to our administration in five different ways.  This site is a reporting tool and is only monitored during school hours on Monday-Friday from 8:00 a.m. - 3:00 p.m.  Please click HERE for the parent letter for more information.

 Bruster’s Italian Icees will be on sale this Friday for $2 at the concession stand.  Attention Pirates:  Your 2019 Pirates Day is on Tuesday, May 21!  This is a great day of games, food and activities to celebrate the end of a great school year.  Discounted “Pre-Sale” WRISTBANDS will be sold for $20 Mon., MAY 6 – Fri., May 17 in the Lunchroom during 4th & 5th Periods ONLY.  Your wristband allows unlimited access to most activities and food.  Each wristband will have 1 pull-tab that can be used once at either “Lunch Combo” or “Paintball.”  There will be no pre-sale orders taken after May 17.  Tickets & wristbands will be sold throughout the day on Pirates Day at the regular price: Tickets: $1 = 3 Tickets .......“Day-of” Wristbands: $25 Make your plans now to celebrate Pirates Day!  PIRATES' Day Info   Extracurricular Attention athletes who competed on this year’s Cross Country/Indoor Track/Outdoor Track teams:  The pizza and ice cream end-of-the-year celebration has been moved to TUESDAY, May 14th, at 2:35 in the Lunchroom/Cafeteria. Please bring $4 to Coach Spence (Room 207) by Monday, May 13th, if you plan to attend.  
  Attn 6th & 7th graders interested in taking Art next year for the first time:  You must attend an Observational Drawing Tryout on May 9 OR 10th from 3:10-3:45.     Attn 6th & 7th graders:  If you are interested in taking Adv Art next year and are NOT already IN Adv Art,  you must submit 2 of these 3 drawings to Larry Gibson by May 13:
  1) Self-portrait in pencil
  2) Building/House in pen
  3) Pet/Animal in watercolor

Due to scheduling conflicts, VHHS baseball tryouts for rising 9th graders will use the second set of dates given on the handout from Coach Harris. Those dates are below. Tryouts for rising 8th graders who wish to go out for freshman baseball will also be the second set of dates.
