VHHS soccer coach receives national award

January 25, 2017
Brigid Littleton
Vestavia Hills High School girls’ soccer coach Brigid Littleton has been named South Region Coach of the Year by the National Federation of State High School Associations (NFHS).
The regional award is given to just six coaches nationwide. Littleton was also named NFHS State Coach of the Year and Alabama Coach of the Year by the National Soccer Coaches Association of America in the summer of 2016.
The awards follow a 2016 season in which the Rebels won the AHSAA 7A state soccer championship and finished with a first-place national ranking from MaxPreps.
“I was honored and humbled to receive this award, and I’m thankful for all the people I’ve had around me through the years here,” Littleton said.
“We have great teams of girls who do what they’re supposed to do and stay committed to their goals. This is a reflection of all they do,” she said.
This is Littleton’s 13th year coaching VHHS varsity soccer. She is also an honors English teacher at Vestavia Hills High School.
