November 7, 2019 -- Please congratulate members of the VHHS Mock Trial team for their success at the YMCA Youth Judicial Conference, the state's largest mock trial tournament. Last weekend, these students competed with 600 other highschoolers in both the Federal Courthouse and the Montgomery County Courthouse. Vestavia Hills brought home a number of awards this weekend.
Team 353 (Carter Dewees, Sarah Beth Corona, Ryan Conn, Safa Khan, Jacob Moore, Riya Parikh, William Seitz, and Whitt Shuemaker) won the Hugh Maddox Award, the competition's most outstanding honor given to the "best overall team" for performance, sportsmanship, and character. They also earned a bid to the National Judicial Competition this summer in Chicago.
