Schools Reopen Wednesday

January 4, 2021 -- Dear VHCS family,

We hope you have had a wonderful holiday season and are looking forward to the return to school this week.

Vestavia Hills City Schools will reopen to students as scheduled this Wednesday, January 6. Traditional and Remote Model students will remain in their first semester assignments through the end of the semester on Friday, January 15. The second semester begins on Tuesday, January 19.

We will continue following the 4Habits 4Health when schools reopen. Students and staff will still be expected to wear face coverings, wash hands regularly, check each day for the symptoms of COVID-19, and practice good hygiene. These habits helped to minimize the impact of COVID-19 on our schools during the fall and will help us ensure a safe environment for students this winter and spring.

Parents and staff members are expected to check for the symptoms of COVID-19 each morning before arriving at school. You may use this Daily Home Screening checklist as a guide. Students and employees may not come to school if they have symptoms of COVID-19 or have been in close contact with someone with a positive COVID-19 diagnosis.

Students and staff should continue to wear face coverings as required by Gov. Kay Ivey's ongoing health order. Details regarding face coverings may be found on the Operations and Wellness section of our COVID-19 website.

Thank you for your continued support.
